Dani Deahl

In an industry where women are still the minority, Chicago's Dani Deahl aspires to be an innovator and leader.

Dani believes that her influence only starts behind the decks. Her resume boasts a continual inventory of side projects in print, radio, television and the studio - a testament to her commitment in redefining the female DJ role.

Selected accomplishments include a job offer from URB Magazine as their House Editor (a position she still holds), being offered a weekly show with European station OasisFM and keeping a progressively busy release schedule. Most recently Dani has been churning out tracks on labels like Detour, Lazy Days, Blue Iguana Music and Hot Sauce Recordings. She is also on the verge of launching her own label (more details to be released in coming weeks).

Dani explores darker sounds that blend electro, house and touches of indie rock into a future-forward package that reinvigorates an underground feel. "It's important for me," she says, "to not only continue to evolve musically, but to also be a contributor within the electronic music industry; as I stay involved through DJing, production, music journalism and more, I know I'm doing my job.”
